Data management is growing increasingly complex for cities as more systems migrate online and more physical infrastructure is networked for digital access. The challenge for municipal leaders is finding ways to mitigate that complexity while also identifying use cases for new data that can boost government efficiency and improve civic services.
For the second time, US Ignite hosted a Smart City Big Data workshop to understand where communities are successfully applying new data insights, and how they’re handling the technical and organizational issues around data management. Compared to a US Ignite Big Data workshop in June of 2018, this June 2019 event produced a much wider range of data use cases.
