Delivering bold ideas for smarter communities
US Ignite partners with stakeholders nationwide to move innovation from concept to deployment. By bringing everyone to the table to define challenges, test solutions, and coordinate actions, the US Ignite Communities Program helps communities move faster, find funding, reduce duplication, and carry forward what works from one place to many.
What does the US Ignite Communities Program do?
Communities, whether a neighborhood, town, region, or state, bear responsibility for deploying infrastructure, implementing policies, and delivering results for their residents. They face overlapping challenges across sectors, infrastructure, and capacity.
Our team of community innovation and technical experts leads practical work with communities and partners to define their most pressing challenges and then identify solutions that work. We replicate the proven approaches across multiple locations to build toward scale and measurable impact.
How we work with communities
We partner with communities to move them from a general challenge to a defined action plan. Our role is practical execution and shared learning.
- Define the problem — We work with teams to clarify the real issue and shape use cases that fit the community.
- Coordinate the partners — We bring together agencies, communities, researchers, and industry, and we manage collaboration transparently.
- Guide deployment — We stay engaged throughout the implementation, establishing a best-practice model among their peers.
US Ignite offers three engagement models ranging from early exploration to multi-community deployment.
