Smart City Accelerator Program and Small Business Training Series
InnovateSLC offers startups, entrepreneurs, and small businesses in Salt Lake City, Utah, a unique opportunity to help build the local smart city ecosystem through two distinct initiatives – the smart city accelerator program and a small business training series.
InnovateSLC: Small Business Training
A wave of emerging smart city technologies is reshaping both education and industry. However, few small business workers can access them today. To make these technologies accessible to ALL, we designed a completely free training series for Salt Lake small businesses. Participating small businesses can expect to tap into our network of community institutions like universities, museums, and libraries to learn how to access cutting-edge tools to create new smart city projects and services via training series. Smart City Accelerator
Developed and facilitated by VentureCapital.Org, our Smart City Accelerator aims to coach participants by working with Salt Lake City leadership to address local challenges with new connected and data-driven technologies.
Thanks to the Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) funding, InnovateSLC will run for the next three years. InnovateSLC’s training program will identify startups developing technologies that contribute to smart city development and leverage advancements in big data analytics, AI, and energy efficiency. In addition, the program will help qualified startups accelerate the commercialization process and collaborate with the city to ensure new solutions meet local needs.
