Smart Sensor Network for Improved Operations
The goal of the Fort Benning Smart Installation and Community Dashboard is to provide information more quickly to installation leaders, creating a common operating picture from insights delivered through data analytics, data fusion, and artificial intelligence. An Internet of Things (IoT) smart sensor network using 4G and 5G wireless connectivity will fuel the data-driven digital dashboard and enable the Fort Benning leadership to anonymously collect data and monitor real time conditions. The Smart Installation and Community Dashboard aims to help improve public safety, energy efficiency, and transportation management for the base and the surrounding community.
US Ignite will work with the U.S. Army Engineer and Development Center (ERDC), Fort Benning, and other Department of Defense (DoD) stakeholders to develop and deploy use cases that will leverage the smart sensor network, artificial intelligence (AI), and data analytics. The real-time information and data generated by the applications will be captured and visualized in the Smart Installation and Community Dashboard, offering Fort Benning leaders clear insights for managing staff and services on the installation while reducing base operating costs.
