Round Two: Newest "Platforms for Advanced Wireless Research" RFP Now Available

The Platforms for Advanced Wireless Research (PAWR) Project Office (PPO), led by US Ignite, Inc. and Northeastern University, with funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and a consortium of 28 companies and industry associations, has released a second Request for Proposals (RFP) to design, deploy, and operate a set of platforms for advancing next-generation wireless research across the United States.

Today we join the National Science Foundation, as well as a consortium of 28 networking companies, in celebrating the recipients of the Platforms for Advanced Wireless Research (PAWR) program’s first-ever award selection process. It gives us great pleasure to announce that two research platforms, to be based in Salt Lake City and New York City, will be developed and deployed thanks to support from NSF and our industry partners. These testbeds promise to yield massive breakthroughs in wireless technology ensuring U.S. leadership in this field for decades to come.

US Ignite’s Reverse Pitch Competition Set to Make Social Impact Through Gigabit Applications

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, US Ignite, Inc. announced that it will co-host and sponsor series of Smart Gigabit Communities (SGC) Reverse Pitch Competitions – competitions that are focused on empowering local change makers to ideate and develop innovative gigabit applications. US Ignite is a nonprofit that spurs the creation of next-generation applications and services that leverage advanced networking technologies to build the foundation for smart communities. Funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), US Ignite’s Smart Gigabit Communities program is creating “living lab” environments for the next generation of gigabit applications.
