Smart Gigabit Communities Program Awards $110K to Promote Local Application Development

US Ignite is pleased to announce the proposals accepted as part of our recent round of Application Development Awards in March of 2018. The Application Development Awards provide up to ten thousand dollars in funding per proposal submitted and accepted from one of our Smart Gigabit Communities. The awards total one hundred and ten thousand dollars to improve community impacts and support local application developers. Leaders in each of our Smart Gigabit Communities worked with development teams to identify the most promising gigabit applications in their regions. Congratulations to each of the development teams and their communities. Real-Time Drone Imagery (NC Ignite): A drone based combined program for real-time streaming imaging service for public safety and 3D mapping and analysis.

The 2018 US Ignite Application Summit Is Over, But Its Impact is Just Beginning

At our 6th Annual US Ignite Application Summit we brought our innovative community together once again, diving deep into the acceleration of advanced networking technology and celebrating everything that our extended family of researchers, industry experts, and civic leaders has accomplished since we last met. From inspiring keynote addresses, to illuminating breakout sessions, to exhilarating demos on the expo floor, this year’s Summit allowed us to learn, share, and connect like never before.

Congratulating POWDER-RENEW and COSMOS: Our First PAWR Platforms

Today we join the National Science Foundation, as well as a consortium of 28 networking companies, in celebrating the recipients of the Platforms for Advanced Wireless Research (PAWR) program’s first-ever award selection process. It gives us great pleasure to announce that two research platforms, to be based in Salt Lake City and New York City, will be developed and deployed thanks to support from NSF and our industry partners. These testbeds promise to yield massive breakthroughs in wireless technology ensuring U.S. leadership in this field for decades to come.

LEARN MORE HERE US Ignite seeks a consultant arrangement for its Platforms for Advanced Wireless Research (PAWR) program. The consultant(s) will provide project management, engineering, construction, and deployment advice and services related to the deployment of up to four wireless testbed networks in cities across the United States.US Ignite is soliciting submissions from all interested parties, including consulting firms or other professionals, for a three-month contract, with the potential for contract extensions up to three years.
